The Oder Day was held for the first time in 2016 on the occasion of the opening of Xawery Dunikowski Boulevard. This year, the Odra Day turned into 7 Days of the Oder. A lot of attractions awaited the inhabitants of Wrocław and tourists.
The program of the Odra Days included a series of meetings, Talks about the River and a film screening: “To the last drop” by Ewa Ewart. The meetings were held at the Odra Centrum educational and cultural center, which implements educational projects in the field of knowledge about the Oder River, in particular ecology and protection of the natural environment of rivers.
After last year’s ecological catastrophe, we all pay more attention to what is happening to our Oder River.
Open Guided Walks were held throughout the week. The topics of the walks were varied, from “About Viadrus and its water kingdom” – a family walk to “Old etablissementów czar, or about the old life of water sportsmen, places and entertainment on the Oder River”. Everyone could find something interesting for themselves J
A traditional element of the celebrations was the picnic on Xawery Dunikowski Boulevard, which took place on May 20, 2023 (Saturday). Wrocławska Organizacja Turystyczna proudly represented its members, showing the inhabitants of Wrocław and tourists the places they must visit 😉
Having fun together was an opportunity to get to know the largest river in Wrocław. The potential of the Oder is great – revitalized quays give the opportunity to practice various sports, marinas, beaches, restaurants and sports equipment rentals are being built in the vicinity of the river. The Odra Days were not only an opportunity to expand knowledge about the river and the possibilities offered by living in its vicinity, but also an opportunity to spend time with family and friends in beautiful surroundings 😉
