The Wrocław Tourist Organization (WROt) and the Lower Silesian Tourist Organization (DOT) joined forces to organize the largest visit of domestic tour operators to the city and region in years. The event was co-organized by the Polish Chamber of Tourism (PIT), which brings together the largest Polish companies specializing in inbound tourism. It was the tour operators from PIT who visited our region.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the organizers and travel agencies were determined to carry out the visit. Especially at this time, it is crucial to create a tourism offer that will be implemented from the beginning of the new season. We hope that this visit will help tourism recover quickly and support those who are most affected by the consequences of the recent flooding.
“It is largely thanks to domestic inbound tourism operators that in 2023, Wrocław saw around 6 million tourists and visitors. We are almost back to the level of 2019, before the pandemic. Group inbound tourism organized by companies associated with the Polish Chamber of Tourism brings satisfied and reliable tourists. Especially in this difficult time, when part of the tourism industry is facing and will continue to face challenges due to the flooding in our region, I want to thank you for your work and ask for even greater promotion of Wrocław and Lower Silesia in your offers,” said Jakub Mazur, Deputy Mayor of Wrocław, during the visit.
In addition to visiting local and regional attractions, the guests had the opportunity to spend 3 hours in discussions with industry representatives in so-called “round table talks.”
“Almost 50 representatives of the tourism industry from Lower Silesia and Wrocław gathered to present concrete offers and solutions to our guests. Members of the Lower Silesian and Wrocław Tourist Organizations discussed with inbound tour operators to strengthen business relationships and develop even better models of cooperation. I am convinced that the outcomes of these discussions will lead to a swift recovery after the flood and the development of tourism in the region and the city in the coming years,” said Wojciech Bochnak, Member of the Board of Lower Silesia Province, about the event.
Tour operators also had the chance to explore the rich tourism offerings by visiting selected attractions in Wrocław and participating in one of the tours around Lower Silesia. While our attractions are well-known to the Polish industry, the goal of the organizers is to showcase a dynamically modernized and expanded offer.
The event partners included the Wrocław City Office and the Lower Silesian Provincial Office. The visits to the city and region were also made possible thanks to grants from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
Simultaneously, Wrocław and Lower Silesia also hosted representatives from the Polish Tourism Organization (POT), who visited attractions awarded with the POT Certificate.
