From 14 to 16 August 2026, the Wrocław Tourism Organisation presented the city’s tourism offer at the Canaletto City Festival in Dresden. It is the largest city festival in eastern Germany, attracting hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors every year.
The event took place across Dresden’s Old Town and along the banks of the Elbe, including Theaterplatz, Altmarkt, Schlossplatz and Brühl’s Terrace. The programme featured live concerts, artistic performances, craft fairs, family zones and a fireworks display. The festival is named after Bernardo Bellotto, known as Canaletto, who depicted 18th-century Dresden in his paintings.
The Wrocław Tourism Organisation was joined by three of its members: Kolejkowo, Hydropolis and the Depot History Centre. Festival visitors had an opportunity to discover the city’s diverse attractions – from places presenting its history and educational and scientific experiences to activities for the whole family.
Our presence in Dresden provided an opportunity to speak directly with residents and visitors and encourage them to plan a trip to Wrocław. The offer presented during the festival showed that the city can be explored in many different ways – through its history, science and diverse tourism attractions.
The Lower Silesian Tourism Organisation presented the tourism offer of the entire region. Our joint presence at the event helped promote Wrocław and Lower Silesia as attractive destinations for visitors from Germany.
