Illustracja dla członka WROt: Wrocławska Restaurant

Wrocławska Restaurant

The restaurant has been in this location for almost 30 years.

It has undergone many changes. It has now returned to its roots. It serves Polish cuisine and the cuisine of pre-war Wrocław. It was inspired by the books of the famous Wrocław writer Marek Krajewski. His main character, Eberhard Mock, was a pre-war policeman and a lover of Wrocław cuisine…

Wrocławska is the cuisine of old Wrocław, reconstructions of old dishes, Wroclaw bigos, Silesian sky, hekels, Wroclaw dumplings and beer from local breweries.

Our specialty is Wrocław Bigos and the famous “Śląskie Niebo” with Wrocław dumplings, which are already famous throughout Europe.

It is worth remembering that pierogi ruskie first appeared in the vicinity of Wrocław. They are a modification of Ukrainian pelmeni. They arrived with repatriates from the east after the war. Our pierogi already have their regular fans. Recently, we added pierogi with duck and spinach to the menu. Duck was eaten in many ways in pre-war Wrocław. Our specialty is also Wrocław żurek, which came to Wrocław just like pierogi ruskie. Our żurek is unique, made according to an old recipe and served in bread. We serve delicious lunches and dinners.

We never wanted Wrocławska to be just another restaurant in Wrocław. We are aware of how important tradition is, which is why we not only want to cultivate it, but also pass it on. For this reason, at Wrocławska we serve our guests something more than delicious regional food. We serve them a piece of the history of our city.

In Wrocław, food has always played a very important role and so far, by looking at recipes that have been prepared over the centuries, we can learn a lot about the political and economic situation of the city. Wrocław has not always been a Polish city, which is why its cuisine is influenced by German, Czech, Jewish and Eastern cultures. Over the centuries, these cultures have intertwined, and chefs have drawn the best from them, thanks to which today we can enjoy really good food in Wrocław. Wrocław herring tartare, or “Hekele”, Wrocław żurek, Wrocław dumplings and even Silesian heaven – these are just some of the dishes inspired by the traditions of the region that you can try at Wrocławska. No place can be called the best restaurant in Wrocław if it does not serve good beer. This golden drink has always been present on the tables of the current capital of Lower Silesia. We know this, which is why we attach great importance to the drinks menu and make sure that our guests always have a large selection of beers from local breweries.

We do not forget that beer is not only a drink, but also a great addition to dishes, and in accordance with the tradition of using it in the process of preparing meat, our menu includes a dish such as ribs marinated in regional beer. We want to bring our guests closer to the atmosphere of Wrocław, its history and culture not only through food. Could there be a better place for this than a restaurant in Wrocław at the Market Square? We want people who stay with us to be able to absorb the atmosphere of the city and thus understand it better. The close proximity to the very heart of Wrocław means that the restaurant is surrounded by amazing monuments, beautiful old buildings and streets. All of them hide stories about the past days of the city, and we want to show all of this to our guests and make them love Wrocław and Wrocław cuisine, just like we do.
