The 2nd edition of the Culinary Competition for Chefs “Culinary Grand Prix of Wrocław” is now underway, aiming to select the best chefs working in the capital of Lower Silesia. Exceptional prizes await the winners – including an internship at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Barcelona.

First Stage – Culinary Business Cards of Chefs

From September 1 to September 30, 2025, the first stage of the competition will take place, consisting of application submissions. This is the moment when chefs have the chance to present their style and vision for an autumn menu. Each application form must include, among others: a description of the participant’s professional achievements, the name and recipe of the main dish, as well as three photos of the dish.

The competition is open to professional chefs who, during its course, are employed in restaurants or hotels in Wrocław. It is being held at a special moment – this year, Wrocław was included in the Michelin Guide, a great honor for the local culinary scene.

“This has been a historic year for our city. Michelin recognized Wrocław and its cuisine. With this competition, we want to continue promoting the city and its talents. We want to show that Wrocław’s gastronomy matters in Europe. We encourage both experienced masters and ambitious young chefs to take part – for both groups, participation can be an important career milestone, as well as a chance to train at a Michelin-starred restaurant and gain invaluable experience,” emphasized Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wrocław.

After the application process, the Jury will select 3–4 finalists, who in October will invite the commission to their restaurants. They will prepare a tasting menu based on the theme of autumn. Tastings will take place on October 21 and 22, and the winner will be announced on October 22, 2025, during a meeting of the Mayor of Wrocław with the gastronomy industry at the Wrocław Town Hall.

Theme – “A Calendar in Harmony with Nature – Golden Polish Autumn”

This year’s edition is themed “A Calendar in Harmony with Nature – Golden Polish Autumn.” Organizers encourage participants to use seasonal products and showcase creative ways of working with them.

“Autumn is an exceptionally rich season for cuisine – it offers natural flavors that are outstanding on their own. We hope that chefs will be able to highlight them and serve them in a way that combines tradition with a modern approach,” added Małgorzata Golak, Director of the Office of Economic Development.

Awards – A Culinary Gateway to Europe

At stake are prestigious prizes that can open doors to an international career. The winner of the first place will enjoy a two-week internship at Hofmann in Barcelona, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The runner-up will spend one week there, while the third finalist will receive a financial prize of 3,000 PLN.
