Strefa Kultury Wrocław (Culture Zone Wrocław)

Wrocław, as one of the few cities awarded the title of European Capital of Culture, decided to continue the activities of the organisation originally responsible for coordinating the celebration.  The main goal of Strefa Kultury Wrocław (Culture Zone Wrocław) is to conduct cultural activities, consisting in organising and producing events in various fields of art and culture. The institution also maintains the activities and upholds the traditions previously carried out by Impart, whose heritage and rich history have been preserved as a distinct part of SKW.

The institution also maintains the activities and upholds the traditions previously carried out by Impart, whose heritage and rich history have been preserved as a distinct part of SKW.

The main part of the SKW’s programme consists of festivals highly-recognised both in Poland and abroad for years: Jazz nad Odrą, International Theatre Festival Dialog – Wrocław, the Johannes Brahms “Non Sola Scripta” International Organ and Chamber Music Festival, WROsound, and the “Dziecinada” International Festival of Children’s Theatre.

The institution currently operates and conducts its cultural activities at two locations: Impart Centrum (the former Witold Lutosławski Memorial Philharmonic) and the Firlej club.
